Fort Helios

Having returned to the others in the great underwater city Mia and Ray explained that by travelling to Fort Helios they could finally find and talk to Heraz. Riya and her crew quickly readied the vessel for its next voyage and despite being a long one they would be able to make the journey in a little over 4 days with her vessel fully provisioned and fuelled.

Dani sat with Mia in the observation lounge three days later and they talked excitedly about the hope of catching up with Heraz. Dani had known the trader for several decades and had been instrumental in her success with her skills in predicting vessel movements and knowing the profiles of many of those who were involved in the complex trade of multiple cargos. Now it would be time to call in a favour and she was confident her sometime partner would deliver.

On the afternoon of the fourth day they spotted the great fort in the distance and were able to make landfall before sunset with a couple of hours to track down the illusive character. Later that evening they found themselves sat at a corner booth of one of the most notorious drinking dens in the city with Heraz sat opposite with a wry grin on her face, her luminous green eyes glinting in anticipation.

“So my dear Danielle, who can I be of assistance this time, if I’m correct you won our last wager so I have a debt to settle.” Dani laughed and got straight to the point, after which her friend’s expression clouded and turned more serious. “Help you I can, but if won’t be easy finding your sister, and not for the reasons you may think.”
